1 in 3 women will experience violence in their lifetime. On average, a woman in Australia is killed by a man they know every 10 days. Let’s create a future where we are all safe, equal, and respected.
SydWest, in partnership with Outer West Domestic Violence Network (OWDVN) and Blacktown City Council, is organising a walk next Wednesday as part of the UN Women’s initiative to end violence against women.
Come and join us at Blacktown’s Village Green at 10 am on November 29 and unite with activists around the world to take action to end gender-based violence. A key message of the campaign is that women and girls have the right to be _Safe. Everywhere. Always._
Information stalls will be hosted after the walk, with bilingual SydWest and other community workers in attendance to talk to women and girls in a range of community languages.
People of all ages and genders are welcome and are invited to wear orange, the official colour of the campaign.

You may also like to view our multi-lingual video created with other organisations to remind women who have experienced violence from all backgrounds that they are not alone. The video features Filipino, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Dari, Tamil, and Mandarin speaking members of the community.
