Welcome to PrideAbility

PrideAbility is a social club for LGBTQIA+ people with disability. We create a safe, fun, and inclusive space where members can connect, celebrate their identity, and be part of a supportive community.

Our group empowers members to build confidence, form friendships, and access mainstream LGBTQIA+ spaces in a supported, welcoming and inclusive way. We know that many people face barriers that impact their self-expression or self-identity. PrideAbility is a place where everyone can truly be themselves.

What We Do

PrideAbility is a social group for LGBTQIA+ people with disability. PrideAbility is all about community, connection, and fun. We take part in mainstream LGBTQIA+ events like the Sydney Mardi Gras, QueerScreen Film Festival, Parramatta Pride Picnic, and Drag Bingo. We also run our own activities, including nights out at bars or clubs, group dinners, peer mentoring, and educational workshops. Whether it’s a big event or a casual catch-up, every PrideAbility gathering is a chance to celebrate, share experiences, and feel a sense of belonging. We host several activities throughout the year for allies to join. If you are an ally, and want to find out more, please get in touch.

PrideAbility has also helped create educational resources for people with disability and disability support workers about sexuality, relationships and identity. You can find the videos here.

Join Us

Through events, social gatherings, and community-led projects, PrideAbility members meet peers and mentors, co-create educational resources, and work together to challenge discrimination. We champion intersectional identities and ensure LGBTQIA+ people with disability are seen, heard, and celebrated.

Join us and be part of a vibrant, diverse, and proud community! If you would like to join PrideAbility, or if you would like to find our more about the group, including how you can support or sponsor an event, please contact us through our Contact Us page.
